STL's famous "Chinese Express"!!!

This is on my list of places that I MUST visit everytime I go back to St. Louis!!  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Chinese Express!!!!  The Shrimp Fried Rice is SO good!!!  Make sure you add the packet of red pepper that they give you for that added kick!!  Nobody else makes shrimp fried rice like this place.  Now w/my rice I always have to order some of the fried chicken wings.  Their wings are seasoned SO good!!!!  It honestly makes you want to suck on the chicken bone for a little while after all the meat is gone.  And you have to end the meal w/a Pineapple Vess...the meal just doesn't seem complete w/o it.

If you're ever in St. Louis, go to Chinese Express...you won't be disappointed

The FAMOUS "In n Out Burger" All the way from California

In n Out Burger opened their doors in Texas a few weeks ago.  I've never been to Cali so I'd never been to this place.  Wondering what all the talk was about, my co-workers & I would drive past everyday on our lunch to see if the wait had gone down.  For at least a week and a half the wait for the drive-thru & to eat in was at LEAST 3-hours!!!  I am wondering to myself "are their burgers THAT good??"  Well, after calling & driving by everyday for a week & a half during our lunch we were FINALLY able to stand in line for just a few minutes to get our food.  The menu really only consists of 3 things, but they also have things that are not in the menu like the option to get your burger and fries "animal style".  The food was good, but I wouldn't suggest standing in a 3hr line to wait for it.  And if you don't get the food "animal style", it's "Just another burger joint".  Make sure you say you want your food "animal style" and you'll be in for something different and surprisingly good. :-)

Crab Cake Bites with Remoulade Sauce & Fries - Sambuca 360

These were actually REALLY good!!!  I should have ordered more!!!  I LOVE seafood, LOVE crab cakes and these were really good!!!  The sauce was good too, but I didn't really need it.  The fries...well...they were fries, nothing special, but the Crab Cake Bites were great! :-)

My Cherryo - Frozen Yogurt

O.K. so...I've had frozen yogurt from the grocery store and restaurants before, but this was my first time at an actual Frozen Yogurt place like this.  I see them all over the place, but had never gone to one.  So, I decided I'd try it.  I LOVE this place because, for one...it's HEALTHY!!!  They have a great variety of flavors and not only do they have a variety of flavors, but they also have signs up above every flavor telling you what it's good for like a certain flavor/fruit is good for bones/joints, etc...  As you can see, I combined a lot of different flavors with my first visit.  They hall all kinds of fresh fruit and a ton of other toppings.  I will DEFINITELY be visitng this place again this summer. :-)

Buttons Restaurant, Food & Music for the Soul - "Old School Pot Roast"

"Old School Pot Roast - Tender pulled roast beef with mushrooms, baby carrots . Served with garlic smashed potatoes, cabbage and fried onion rings."

Well, as you can see, I did not get the cabbage.  I requested that they substitute the cabbage for their Collard Greens.  I have heard TOO MANY good things about their greens and have smelled the greens one night I was there for a birthday party, and they smelled SOO good, so...I HAD to get them this time. J

So...Pot Roast w/Potatoes, Mushrooms & Carrots...this roast was SO tender, it almost melted in my mouth.  The gravy from the roast that the potatoes, carrots and mushrooms sat in was seasoned to PERFECTION!  There was a side of baby carrots w/a sweet glaze,  the carrots were cooked just right, not too hard and not too soft and the sweet glaze was WONDERFUL, it added just the right hint of sweetness to this dish.  The Garlic Mashed Potatoes & Collard Greens…Mmm!!  Now, I DO NOT eat everyone’s greens, but those greens, those greens right there...they were SOOOO good!!!  They had just the right amount of seasoning to them and they had this smoked flavor that was to die for.  I think I’ll try to get this flavor in my greens the next time I cook some.  SOO good!!!

Now, I didn't get a good pic of my dessert, but I did have dessert.  "Buttons' Peach Cobbler - Fresh sweet Georgia peaches with citrus zest, cinnamon & nutmeg baked in a flaky pastry topped with Blue Bell Homemade vanilla ice cream"…this was GREAT!!!  Sometimes I’ll order Peach Cobbler and can’t eat it all because it’s too sweet, but this was not too sweet at all, it had the perfect amount of flavor and the vanilla ice cream topped it off.  It was WONDERFUL!!!  I will not hesitate to go back to this place & try some of their other dishes.  Great food, Great music, Great Atmosphere 5 STARS!!! Sambuca 360 - Chicken Fried Ribeye Steak w/Gravy, Mashed Potatoes, Broccoli & Texas Toast

I visit Sambuca pretty often, I usually just get brunch there, but...glad I tried something different this time.  This has made it to my Favorite's list.

WOW!!!  This was SOOO good!!!  Let's first talk about what most people don't like...BROCCOLI!!!  The broccoli was AMAZING!!!  It didn't need any seasoning at all and it didn't have any cheese on it (I LOVE cheese & usually would put this on my broccoli!).  Now the Chicken Fried Steak & Potatoes w/the gravy...DELICIOUS!!!!  It was SO filling, I had enough left to take home and eat the next day.  And even after reheating it, the Chicken Fried Steak was still tender and tasted VERY good!!!

3 Thumbs up! :-)
